New Homeschool Resources: Spelling Success without the parental frustration!

Parents, have you ever had any of these scenarios while trying to help your child learn spelling words:

  • The child keeps making the same mistakes, even though you have coached him on the correct spelling several times.
  • The progress you made yesterday seems to have vanished into thin air, and now each word is a struggle.
  • Frustration mounts as the list of words to redo keeps getting larger, in addition to the new list for the week.
  • Your child shows signs of discouragement and doesn’t want to try.

I just found out about a terrific spelling program which will eliminate some of these issues:  SpellQuizzer!

Here are some of the great features:

  • It is a software program to use on the computer
  • Parents or teachers can record the spelling list, with an example sentence
  • Lists can also be imported into the program (and there are several FREE topical lists on the website)
  • Students will listen to the recording and type the word on the computer
  • If the answer is correct, cheering is heard, and the student goes on to the next word
  • If the word is misspelled, the correct spelling is given, and the student will have the opportunity at the end of the lesson or quiz to go back and do it again.
  • Students work at their own pace with greater motivation
  • Perfect for students who have learning differences
  • Demo tutorials take you step by step through all the features in a very user-friendly fashion
  • A 30 day FREE trial is available

I encourage you to check this program out with the current spelling lists that you are using.  See how well your students like it, and check my next post to see how you can have a chance to win a free license for SpellQuizzer!
