Need Homeschool Resources? How to Find What You Need Without Being Overwhelmed!

Did you know that Home Schooling is a multi-BILLION dollar business?

That’s right!  Home educators are spending money on a lot more than curriculum.  If you include field trips, sports, music and dance lessons, science kits, drama clubs, test prep materials, college applications and visits, and numerous other services that are getting more and more essential, this diverse group averages expenses of several hundred per student per year!

Current estimates indicate that 2.5 -4 million students are currently homeschooled, and that number is rising 7-15% each year!

Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent on advertising to this population, and new materials are being created nearly every day to meet the growing demand for resources that cater to specific needs.

It can be a HUGE job to keep track of all that is available, and for many families, sorting through the whole montage can be very intimidating.  Websites and books abound with products directed to the homeschool community.

For the past many years, I have endeavored to gather some of those resources into a simple-to-use format that makes the job easier to find what people really want.

I have reformatted my Annotated Resource Directory for Home Educators and put it on a new website so it is easier to navigate.  Since I am getting it back up and running, I want to get as many links set up as I can to provide access to the widest range of services.  If you are a contact person for any of the following, I would love to put your link on my directory site at no charge:

  • Provider of homeschool resources, materials, curriculum
  • Tutor or instructor of any type of classes geared for home educators (parents or students)
  • Colleges or universities that want increased exposure in the homeschool community
  • Sports or recreation or community programs that cater to homeschoolers or offer seek to expand access to homeschoolers
  • Home school family with your own business
  • Homeschooled students who are entrepreneurs
  • Any type of business that offers discounts to home educators

If you or your company fit any of these descriptions, or if you have another niche of interest to home educators, send me an email with this information:

  • Name of company
  • Company address
  • Contact person
  • Phone Number
  • Email
  • website
  • Type of services provided

You can find more information about the link exchange here.  I also offer a much more robust advertising opportunity for the best price in the marketplace, and would love to help connect you through that venue.

If you have ever looked for a support group from the many numerous lists online, you may have discovered that many of the group contacts are out of date.  I am always on the lookout for ways to keep the list updated, and will be starting a listing on my site of helpful groups around the country.  These organizations are always listed at no charge, and it is a great service to homeschool parents to be able to easily find groups that will meet their needs.

If you are a contact person for a support group, please email me the following information:

  • Name of group
  • Group Contact address
  • Contact person
  • Phone Number
  • Email
  • website
  • Type of focus or activities provided.

Thanks so much for your assistance in this project!
