Field trips are key components of the homeschool plan for many families.  They offer cultural experience, deeper understanding of historical or artistic concepts, hands-on application of knowledge learned, and a place for homeschool families to connect with others. 

The Phoenix metro area has numerous museums and cultural exhibits that are perfect field trip opportunities for a family or a homeschool support group.  The wonderful news is that many of them have free admission days throughout the month, enabling access to even those on the tightest budgets.  The basics for this information came from AZCentral.com Entertainment Deals.

ANY DAY

  • Free museum admission for 4 to 13 Valley museums/attractions
    Check out the Culture Pass at the local municipal library. Choose from the Phoenix Zoo, Arizona Science Center and other venues. Once you check out a pass, you have seven days to use it. Passes are limited. Available through March 31, 2010 theculturepass.com

  • Free admission to ASU Art Museum
    11 AM – 5PM. The museum is always free, and will be open until 8 PM Tuesdays during the school year, beginning August 25. Mill Avenue and 10th Street, Tempe. 480-965-2787.
