Homeschool parents sometimes are hesitant to call themselves “teachers” if they don’t have a credentialed teaching degree. However, many knowledgeable folks in academically related areas do recognize parent instructors as qualified teachers–colleges that recruit homeschooled students, bookstores which give educator discounts, and even state and local government agencies that oversee education.
One of the things that credentialed instructors have to do is continue to accumulate CEU’s, or Continuing Education Units, which demonstrate ongoing learning and skill improvement. This can be a hallmark of the homeschool teachers, as well, and can be an enriching component of the homeschooling plan.
Holly Craw Home Education Services will be offering a series of seven workshops over the summer on some of the most requested topics. These sessions will provide a wealth of information and tools to make the homeschooling adventure easier and will save parents hours of time searching out answers on the internet.
