Some homeschool families like to complete their studies by the end of May, and spend the summer doing a variety of other enrichment activities. Other homeschoolers continue their coursework during the hot months to stay out of the heat. Either way, art classes are a great addition to the schedule, as a break from the routine or as a new talent to explore.
Connie Youmans has an M.A. in Art Education and has been working with homeschooled students for many years after a successful teaching career in the New York public schools. She is talented in many areas of artistic expression. During June, she will offer two workshop sessions on oil painting in which students will learn and apply a variety of techniques to one of their creations.
Two locations and four dates are set up with different projects on each date for this four-hour workshop. Students may take one or more to continue to develop their skills.
