How does social networking relate to my homeschool support group or WAHM business?.

The world is changing rapidly, thanks to the internet and technology.  Homeschool families and support groups now connect to each other and do some of their planning and coordination via Facebook, Twitter, text messaging, email, chat groups, Youtube and countless other social media outlets. Cell phones instantly connect to the internet where the whole world is literally at your fingertips.

Media gurus constantly present the message that organizations (such as homeschool support groups) and businesses (of every kind–from the work-at-home mom to the Fortune 500) need to be involved in the social media to grow and survive. An article by Leah on StraightUp Social highlights some of the key reasons:

  • People are talking about your enterprise and the good, bad and ugly with it.  Good managers know what is being said and know how to interact with it.
