Homeschool Field Trips: Free and cheap museums are great cultural experiences

If your homeschooling family or homeschool support group is looking for some great free outings, Phoenix area museums have some fabulous deals that will make your wallet happy.  Some museums are always free and some offer certain days of the week or month at no charge or a discount.   Sue Doerfler of the Arizona Republic writes about these deals in her column and on AZCentral.com

January Museum Deals:

  • Phoenix Zoo Discount  $1 off regular admission for each donated non-perishable food item ($5 max per person)
    9 AM-5 PM, daily through January 31
  • Phoenix Zoo FREE  January 29:  First 100 visitors dressed in bright Tillamook Orange  9:00 AM.  Next 100 will get $2 off adult or $1 off child admissions.  See all details.
  • Superstition Farms in Mesa–Dollar days-Tuesday – Friday all month, $1 each for admission, hayrides, animal feed, milk bars and snacks
