Homeschoolers build reading skills with free pizza as incentives

Most homeschool children enjoy reading, and nearly every child loves getting rewards for literary skills.  There are some students in every educational setting–public, private or homeschooling–who need additional incentives for sitting down with a book.  Sometimes food, pizza in particular, is a great motivator.

Pizza Hut has sponsored the BOOK IT! Reading Incentive Programs for 25 years, rewarding children for reading with one personal pizza a month for six months as they meet their reading goals. The program is a favorite among homeschool families as it offers an opportunity to encourage additional reading time.
