Homeschoolers and dual-credit classes: Easy steps for getting a jump on college


My homeschooler wants to take dual-credit community college classes.  What are the steps needed to get set up with this? 

It is becoming quite popular for homeschoolers to get high school and college credit by enrolling in community college classes while in high school.  Arizona law allows twelve-year-olds and older to enroll, and even as young as eight if parents take the class with them.

The Maricopa County Community College District is comprised of ten schools across the valley.  Although the enrollment guidelines are similar, each school may have a few specific forms or requirements that differ from the others.
