Good news for parents: Phoenix is rated in top safe driving cities-no joke

If you have teens in the house, your homeschool curriculum may include Drivers’ Education. For some in a big city like Phoenix, teaching the 15-plus year-old to drive may be a formidable experience.  However, parents can breathe a (small) sigh of relief, since, in spite of being the sixth largest city in the nation, Phoenix ranked 55th out of 200 safest cities in the annual “Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report”.  Chandler took the number four spot.

Allstate Insurance Company used collision frequency statistics to draw their conclusions.  In Chandler, the average person is in a crash about every 12.6 years and individuals are 20.4% less likely to have a fender bender than the national average. The window between accidents for Phoenix averages 10.1 years, and these drivers are a little more likely to crash than the national average.

Perhaps one reason for the good report is that some relatively strong conditions that must be in place for the teen driver.
