Teaching German to students and adults is homeschool mom’s passion

Heike Davis has taught her own children from kindergarten through high school, and her family has been a steady anchor within the homeschooling community of the east valley of the Phoenix metroplex.  She has also done other teaching on the side, helping a wide range of students from four years to adults learn Davis’ native language, German.  With her two children now in college (on the President Barack Obama Scholars scholarship), studying computer science engineering and German, Mom Heike is opening up more opportunities for families to learn German.

Foreign language learning is one of the key factors of brain development which results in higher SAT and ACT college entrance test scores.  Most colleges require that incoming students will have completed two years of foreign language study, and foreign languages give students a stronger foundation in English.
