The epitome of “one person can make a difference” is 8-year-old Gavin Lewis

Most six to eight year olds are busy learning to read and write and do simple math. Phoenix homeschooler Gavin Lewis is now just eight, but two years ago, he launched a personal campaign to do beach clean-ups and challenge people in environmentally friendly ways to treat garbage that ends up in the oceans.  He has raised over $6300 to donate to Oceana and Surfrider Foundation for ocean rescue work. He has been featured on Entertainment Tonight and has become theposter child for Dawn Dish Soap in conjunction with the BP oil spill wildlife clean-up efforts.
