I invite you to help make this list abundant and growing and interactive by sending me your favorite information and websites!  I apppreciate teamwork tremendously, as we all contribute what we know so others may benefit.  I will conyinue to add to the list as I get new information.

FREE ONLINE LESSON PLANS AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES
   http://thinkfinity.org/home.aspx

New Free Online Teachers Resource: Thinkfinity
Introduce your teachers, students, and parents to this new teaching
resource brought to you by the Verizon Foundation. Created mostly as an
aid to help promote 21st century skills, this website provides access to
quality teaching materials and lesson plans for both in and out of the
classroom.
Teachers have the ability to incorporate this new technology into their
classrooms, as well as gain valuable suggestions for teaching specific
concepts. They have the ability to download free lesson plans for any
grade from K-12.
For students it serves as a reliable research tool for homework assignments
and projects. It provides educational games and activities, as well as
helps to develop literacy, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
The website contains lessons that help students make connections of what
they are learning in the class room to “real world” experiences. It can
benefit parents as a resource to help their children with home work
assignments. There is also an entire section on the website focusing on
“after school” ideas and resources.
Thinkfinity has partnered up with different organizations like
Smithsonian’s History Explorer, National Geographic Society, and the
Literacy Network to put together reliable educational data. The best part
about all of this is that using the website is completely FREE. Get the
word out at your districts about this fabulous new resource:
Thinkfinity.org, and help enhance your district’s learning.

FREE CULTURAL PASS TO PHOENIX AREA MUSEUMS AND ATTRACTIONS

Starting today, library cardholders can use their card to check out a
Culture Pass. This little baby will get you into participating arts and
cultural venues for free. And it covers admission for up to four people.
Here’s how it works: go to one of these libraries…
Chandler Public Library
Glendale Public Library
Mesa Public Library
Phoenix Public Library
Scottsdale Public Library
Tempe Public Library
…and pick out a card for the museum you’d like to get into for free. Then
check out the card just like you check out a book (or a DVD that you’ll keep
forever) and you get a date-due slip that admits you into the chosen museum.
After seven days, the slip expires and you can trash it. That means no late
fees

You can get your culture on at the following spots:
Arizona Museum for Youth
Arizona Museum of Natural History
Arizona Science Center
The Bead Museum
Cave Creek Museum
Children’s Museum of Phoenix
Desert Botanical Garden
Heard Museum
Mesa Contemporary Arts
Phoenix Art Museum
Phoenix Zoo
Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art
Taliesin West
